Today, We stared a new unit which contains four projects. I was given a words envy. So I just gonna research some things about it.
I think the most important thing about this personification project is to understand the exact meaning of this word.
"Envy refers to emotions that arise when a person desires something another person possesses. Empiricists generally distinguish between two forms of envy: benign and malicious, with the first known as motivating self-improvement and the second as motivating efforts to bring others down. Envy typically has been explored in contrast to other emotions; and research only recently has expanded to include adolescents. When focusing on adolescents, research reveals many positive associations, such as its relationship with social maturity, effects on peer group formation, mediation of psychological pathologies, and self-reported formation of a stronger sense of self. Although there are many potential and rather easily triggered negative effects of envy, research indicates that the emotion is complex and powerful enough to merit continued study in the context of adolescence, a conclusion warranted by the emerging consensus that envy may have a broad range of positive and negative effects on adolescent development."

For me, I see envy as a secret emotion. It is sharp, twisty. But envy also push people become better.
First week
In the first week, We were given different emotions to explore its meaning and asked to design and make a shape that represent our words. The picture above is my final object for the word ENVY. I imagine my envy object as an weapon and a cage, as the envy emotion is not that easy to see from the face and it is more likey to appear in people's mind or thought . So that why make the shape sharp. In the meddle, there is a snake connected a eye in the middle. This is to show my idea that envy shows in eyes.

After I visited this gallery for Egypt. I actually feel sad that this civilisation disappear from the world. It is an very unique and mysterious period. Anything can be not sure, but it give us more room to imagine. I think ancient Egyptian is very loyal for their believe. The believe of nature, king and god. It is very interesting to know how they understand the animal, and the thing happened in the world. It look very ancient, original and powerful.

Tim walker
This week I visit Tim walker's exhibition.
I think his photos always showing me a story , an emotion and his imagination. I saw many Tilda Swinton's photos!!( personal y, I am the fan of her) She have a mysterious atmosphere for me and like a non-human creature. Anyway, I think Tim walker inspire me that how the imagination can be turning to the reality , and the background and clothes of each character match what he want to show to the audience. So I gonna consider more about my photos about the envy character
SECOND week , design character
My idea for this envy character was stated from the greek mythology oil painting, and also inspired from the exhibition of tim walker. My imagination for a envy person is a person who trying to be perfect and that the main reason of her to envy others. Because of the Greek myth background oil painting, it remain me that the ancient greek sculptures. They have beautiful and perfect body shape. I would like to think she is an cold but attractive creature. And I using the green colour and snake element based on its meaning. Myth, perfect, green, snake are the key point for me to design this character.

We are making the costume for grief by newspaper. When we discuss how to show this emotion by costume. I am quick happy with our group work, because our work was made by twisted newspaper which reflect idea that when people are feeling sad, their emotion will turn their body ( heart ) painful.

last week
Actually , my headpiece changing a lots from my original design. While I am making the exact object, it tell me how should I change my design better . At first, I choose the Cooper as my main material, but later I found out that steel sheet is the best solution for crown, because it is more strong. And I also want to make the chain dripping in behind the head. But found out it is hardly to see the detail if it is not in the front. I am happy with my work, as it match my imagination for envy .
