Explain idea: concept development, making context
My idea of self portrait is to present my excited emotion, fair feeling of this new place. I first experimented in my school. For me, school is a new and safe place, So all the experiments in the school are very lovely , warm and fresh. But I think this is not all the content that I want to tell by my self portrait. As a result, I decide to take photo in the place I live in. Because there is the most strange and new area for me, there are less asian people and lots of foreigner. Every thing in that place made me sensitive. So when I took photos in that areas, I can more in that atmosphere of new comers
What I want to do is to pretend myself in a dangerous situation. This is how my work came out. But the problem of my work is that I am not successfully show the information I want to, the feedback I got from teacher and classmates are very different from my own expectation.

Problem solving
To solve the problem that the information I want to transfer by the images is not my expectation. I start to consider about placing it in the area which connect and present my concept. I brough my printed image to the outside of the room . I first place it into the fence to make the images showing being trapped, scared emotion. The second consideration, I place it on the door and turn my head to the back. I took this photos including the stars , which can more clearly show the purpose of a foreigner in this strange country .

I think I can place this image out side of the door, because when I took this portrait , I stand one the road near my home and I wish to go home earlier. It can also place in the the trees or between the fence. In this way, I can show the situation of helpless or being track .

WHAT DO YOU PERCEIVE THE DIFFERENT BETWEEN: AN ARTIST A DESIGNER A CRAFTSPERSON
For artist, the first things I think about is their life. They are different from designer and craftsperson, because these two can be a job, while the most artists regard the arts as their entire career/ life. So their life in my mind are tough and even poor. Artists often have the more understanding about the world and different eyes to see things.
For designer, I think they are very busy. They are busy in designing different seasons goods for the customers, and there are lots of designers in the different and same areas. This is the reason why this job is busy and also very competitive. As a result, people can see various goods that change with the time. Another thing about designer is that their works sometimes need to fit the taste of public.
For the craftsperson, the first word must be hard working and skillful. Sometimes craftsman treat their work as their entire career too and then they teach generation by generation to survive this skill.
How would you define yourself?
I think I would describe myself as half of artist and a half of designer with little bit of craftsperson.
because I like making things by hand to make myself skillful and I like to create and design more personal work.

How will your projects begin?
I will start with a topic and then I will do the primary research which is to take photo and observed the thing , place that related to my topic. Later, I might get some inspiration from these research and explore new ideas. I can start drawing , sketching and experimenting the ideas. Then I will do the secondary research of artist, artworks and the things I interested in. These can help me to get lots and lots of new ideas to develop project.
How do you expect to work? What techniques or materials might you choose from?
I always expect my work complete ,well considered and having soul. As I am doing custom design, I believe that every costume has the soul of the character . For the technique, I will choose pattern cutting, sewing , embroidery . And for the material, I will choose some fabrics, clay , or the material for making decoration.
Where do you expect the work to be done? Who with ?
I will expect my work to be done on a more private space such as my home, because home is more quiet and comfortable. I think better working along.
Who will you learn from?What will they teach you ?
I will learn from the artist that can inspired me, such as some famous costume designers and some artists. They will teach me new way of think and different technique that I can apply in my works.
What do you expect to be prepared to do professionally afterwards?
I wanted to work with the costume designer I admire to learn more experiment and to know more people in the areas.

The costumes she designed are created by her team, craftsman. The costumes she designed in game of throne have lots of embroidery. A documentary about her said the works done by her team and her partners.

Reason :
I know her when I saw the Tv series GAMES OF THRONE . She is the costume designer in this story and her works are very impressed me . Because I used to think that costume is just old type of clothes , while Clapton shows me the variety of designing a clothes for the character. She use her own interpretation and imagination to create a clothes for many virtual people which successfully bring me to other world. Her works in these episodes are classic and also creative with well concerned patterns and color to represent the feature of the character.

3D illustration
Today I study the 3D illustration in class. This illustration is very serious ,regular and realistic for me . I learn how to explore a thing in to various function. Such as from a brick to a window or a gloves. It a very useful way to sketch lots of new ideas, because it . Next, I learn 3 point perspective drawing. I have to use ruler to draw the straight line. This is very suitable for product design and jewellery design, but I am neither these two areas. The last thing I learn is draw the flow plan of sweet pepper. We cut the pepper and draw the inside of it as a house. This might useful in the future, but I still more prefer using free hand to draw things.
3D model
Today, I have 3D workshop for a whole day. Teacher divide us into 3 groups " body , space, object" to make things for a demon character. Our group is to consider the body of this character to create objects. We decide to look at the personality of this demon --- sucking your soul, manipulative, blackmail, corrupt. We are interested in how this demon sucking people's soul, so we imagine and draw the hand with wires and circle to represent soul sucking. And we also think this human demon might have self closing personality or she don't like to talk with others so we also make a mask to represent that.
sustainability
I think the sustainability issues in costume design is that the clothes we create are mostly for the historical character and very different from the clothes that people wear daily. So this cause the issue that these clothes can only use several times when they are needed. So I think I should look at how can make costumes that can be use in more than one area but also can change to another costume or making it have another function.
co-create ring
I have conversation with my peer. I and she are all agree with doing biodegrade rings for the couple who will divorce in the future. We choose making ring because we think rings are more achievable and more suitable for a week project. We found the recipe from a website using agar, ashes/dust, water and sugar to make a solid from. The process is very disguising because the combination of these things smell and looks not very good. After it dry, the colour is dark and brown, so we decided to colour them to make them like real rings but special. We use food colouring to paint the colour. I am happy with the outcome, because we achieve the aim of biodegradable and wearable . They are also represent our concept clearly .

This ring was created to reduce the waste materials of unwanted wedding rings, as well as people’s pocket from expensive diamond rings. While the divorcing rate worldwide having the trend to increase, the amount of the wedding rings wasted will increase along. However, there ’s a way to make the divorce more sustainable. we decided to make biodegradable rings to represent out concept of questioning the sustainability. If all the important and meaningful things will disappear in the near future. People would lose something vital to them. By making this rings, they can also trigger the question from the public.
6 weeks reflection
This week we finished the previous 4 projects ( self portrait, handmade city, digital forest, co-create, some workshops). For me personally, I feel these project are very quick and need to do something that I have never done before like critical practice. Critical practice is the most challenge for me, because I have to ask myself the difficult question “ WHY” to write the text and my English level is limited to write long paragraphs. Even I was told to write less describe and more about the thinking process, but I think I still write more description than thinking. I need to improve this to push myself think clear and hard. When I doing the project, I will come out some ideas but they will make my thought messy and very unsure. I should focus on one point and then make connection between other ideas. Something I done well is the research, because I am very enjoying doing research to get more knowledges ( I always feel like not enough to do the project). Co create is the projects I like the most amount the other projects. I had a partner to discuss ,develop the idea and I did not lose documents , mind and ideas. Lana is good at brain stone and higher English level. Which very help me to understand the aim of this project and help me understand how to do.She is very different from me;I think slowly and act slowly too, but she is fast , efficiency and has different point of view when we working together. It is a chance for me to study. I still prefer working independently, as there always some disagreement happen. The most worried project for me is the handmade city, I am confusing about what to do and my idea is very separate and not connected to the other. In addition, the PECHUKUCHA presentation made me really nervous. Because when you talking in a group and it need to be accessed , everything become serious and scary.

Andy Warhol is an America artist and a leading figure in pop art movement.
I choose him as the villains because I think the position of his art is very different from my position. For me , he is more like a successful businessman rather than an artist. I don't like the way he paint our president , it not looks better and make no sense to me but it is still expensive . When pursuing money and fame become part of the aim of art, is it doing business or creating the art.
reflection of tutorial
Today, I had tutorial with my tutor. I learn my problems and I know how to solve this problems by communication with teacher. My first problem is that I did limited research to explore my ideas. To solve this problem , I should look at every things that I am interested in. Research help me to develop more and more new idea, because I can always get the new things to inspired. The second problem I have is that the pages in my sketch book has very less connection between each other and the final outcome . So I should get more reflection and sketch about the researches to make the connection.

Is creativity a skill?
yes, I think creativity is a important skill. Because it has great impact on our life.We need to use it to design and imagine when we are doing an art project . It is also vital in daily life , people can have lots of solution when they are dealing with problems.
Can it be learned?
I think this can be learn, but it depend on the growing background of different background. It just like when people are young ; lots of them have same dreams , but when they grow up, some still keep it , some change.

Yes, I think everyone can be creative .

I think reading books , watching more new stuffs to enhance your knowledges .
CRAFT
I finished the craftspeople project. This project is about handmade, so I just keep try lots of things. My word is REMOVE, which is very simple action. So my first idea was using white tapes to stick on the painted paper, and then remove the tapes with different colour. Then I got the solution about remove : when you remove something, you will create 2 new things .One is the original and other is the thing been remove. I also use the wood workshop to carve the surface of wood which is based on my primary research. I want to make it transfer to another thing. After I finished the wood carve, I use it to print on the paper and fabrics
CRAFT
Today, I work in the clay workshop.I want to make mask , because I get the ideas from the word “remove”, and the mask is just removing a person to another stranger or removing the people to another world. That is my ideas of removing. I first decide to use light clay to make mask.There is no light clay, so my second choice is plaster. The outcome was very different from my expectation. It is very bad quality with lots of dust which absolutely cannot be wear by any people. I should plan things well so that I can get the expected result.
Digital forest
Today , I had photoshop learning course , I don't use photoshop in any of my previous projects, because I don't know anything about it . When I was in the lesson , it was very hard to me to understand all the different function and also remember the process. Maybe , it will be better if teacher can show as how photoshop can show the different effect on the photos and then we can have better understanding of how photoshop can help us. Because I was not familiar with it , and I have no idea how this can work. After this lesson, I think I already forgot the process , so next time I should record the usage of ps by taking pictures or video.
Digital forest
The outcome title: No Boundary
I first scan the things that I take from the Queens wood ,leaves ,stone ,a cute plant, and I get very beautiful picture and lines. My idea is all come from the forest .When I come to the forest, there is not typical sign of a country. The forest is just like the forest in all the world, so the of concept of no boundary came out. What I want to do is to express the freedom , the feeling in the world. I decide to make a video, because it can show audience more information. The contents of my video is that I put the photo under the window to have sunshine in the paper, and then I start to move my camera and the pictures to create a movement of fluency , freedom, and an abstract forest. Then I considered about the sound , there are always birds, leaves, the wind in it. So I also add the sound of singing bird, the voice of dropping dry leaves, and wind sound to make this digital forest more completed.

My video is to show that there is no spastic sign of a country in the forest, the forest is like the place in every country . So I think my video can not only use the sound of from the forest ( bird and leaves), I want to add the voice of people talking in different language combine with the sound of wind , tress and birds. For the skill of using Pr, I have hung space to improve it.

I am a costume students , so the basic skills of me is reading and interpreting stories ;pattern cutting, using sewing machine ; illustration and research. Reading and interpretation are very for costume designers , they need to understand the emotion ,the characteristic and the history background of the characters. Feel as the characters' feel are very helpful. To understanding the history, costume designer must do lots of research to fulfil their knowledge to image the character . Another thing is very vital for costume design is illustrating the character, because it can record your ideas and prove the imagination. I thinks I have part of these skills, For example , my drawing some time cannot achieve my ideas. Managing and planning skills are also very vital through out my life. I don’t have a good planning skills, which cause lot of bad impact that I cannot finish the experiment or I got lots of messy ideas around me to make me cannot focus. To solve these problems, I think I better practice more drawing and focus on one point to another point.
Fashion illustration
Today , I had fashion illustration workshop in school. I saw some fashion illustrators works, they are very powerful, emotional, and eyes catching for me. Because the colour, the line and the detail is all very considered. We first draw our classmate with continued line in a large scale within 3 minutes. It is very unsure at the beginning , but I think my skills was getting better after lots of practice. The second illustration is to draw the texture using different technique, and material. I like illustrating in this method, because it make every part feels different and look vivid. The final thing we learn was to draw all the part of face into shapes which can create a face map. It is very new and fresh way to draw somebody’s face like this, because it looks independent but not separate, and very stand out.

How does your outcome related to your museum object ? Is there a create link?
Our idea is come from the concept of museum object . This object is to questioning that is fashion should sustainability. So we inspired by this idea. we also wanted to questioning the necessity of sustainability , ( is sustainability is all good for humans?). So this made us think about the wedding ring which is very important in most of people's life. We decide to make biodegradable rings to represent our question. These rings will disappear with 5-10 years , which is perfectly suitable for the couple who planing to divorce in the future.
what have been the most successful aspect of your collar?
My discipline is costume design and my partner is doing fine art. I think the most successful part of the collaboration is that we are all doing the parts we good at. For example, when I am mostly responsible for the research and Lana is very good at thinking and developing the concept. It is more quick and more efficient to develop idea in group. A person start with a idea and then the other can be inspired to another things.
What could be improved ?( teamwork outcome project?)]
I think we have big space to improve . Because we are doing ring, we can develop further to consider the tragic love story or something related to divorce to develop the shape of the rings. And we can also try more different material that is biodegradable .

Costume design and fine art design are both considering about how to communicate with the audience by their works.

Today, I finally finish the PechaKucha. I am very nervous about presentation, it is the nightmare to me. At the beginning, I plan every page very badly, because it was less logical linking and content is too much about my own life not art. So I decide to make the information more balance to show more of my works and the artist that influence me. I think this practice help me to organise the thinking and remain me start point of doing art. This also encourage me to practice and face the scary presentation and this gave me a chance to see and learn how others classmates present and prepare their powerpoint.
